Terms of Service
Last updated April 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of services provided by NetQuery, LLC ("NetQuery", "we", "us", or "our"), including the NetQuery website, APIs, DNS and email diagnostic tools, Microsoft Teams apps, Microsoft 365 Copilot experiences, support channels, and related services.
By using NetQuery, installing the NetQuery app, enabling it for a Microsoft tenant, or submitting a query through our services, you agree to these Terms. If you are using NetQuery on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.
1. The Services
NetQuery provides network, DNS, email, SMTP, and related diagnostic results for informational and operational use. Results may include DNS records, mail configuration checks, deliverability signals, TLS and SMTP probe information, IP metadata, blacklist checks, and related technical analysis.
NetQuery may be accessed through our website, APIs, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, AppSource, or other supported Microsoft 365 surfaces.
2. Accounts And Microsoft Tenant Access
Some services may require authentication or access through a Microsoft tenant. Tenant administrators and users are responsible for managing app installation, consent, user access, and removal through Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and other applicable admin controls.
You are responsible for the activity that occurs through your account, tenant, device, API client, or app installation. You must keep credentials, tokens, and administrative access secure.
3. Authorized Use
You may use NetQuery only for lawful, authorized diagnostic, administrative, security, and troubleshooting purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to evaluate any domain, IP address, hostname, mail server, tenant, or system you submit to NetQuery.
You must not use NetQuery to:
- Violate laws, regulations, third-party rights, or Microsoft marketplace policies.
- Attack, disrupt, overload, scan, probe, or test systems without authorization.
- Send spam, phishing, malware, abusive content, or deceptive requests.
- Bypass rate limits, security controls, authentication, or access restrictions.
- Submit passwords, private keys, API keys, private certificates, or other secrets.
- Reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit NetQuery except as allowed by a written agreement.
4. Diagnostic Inputs And Results
You are responsible for the domains, IP addresses, hostnames, commands, selectors, ports, and other inputs you submit. NetQuery may use those inputs to make DNS, SMTP, HTTP, WHOIS, blacklist, or other network requests needed to produce diagnostic results.
Diagnostic results can be incomplete, delayed, cached, inaccurate, or affected by third-party infrastructure. You should independently verify important results before making operational, legal, security, or business decisions.
5. Microsoft Teams And Microsoft 365 Copilot
When you use NetQuery through Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or other Microsoft 365 surfaces, Microsoft platform terms and tenant administration controls also apply. NetQuery receives activity data from Microsoft so we can authorize requests, run lookups, return responses, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the service.
NetQuery does not control Microsoft client availability, tenant policy, app permission decisions, Copilot runtime behavior, or Microsoft marketplace review outcomes.
6. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in the NetQuery Privacy Policy. The policy explains how we handle website, API, Teams, Copilot, telemetry, operational log, and support information.
7. Third-Party Services And Data
NetQuery may rely on third-party platforms and data sources, including Microsoft services, cloud hosting providers, authentication providers, DNS resolvers, WHOIS sources, blacklist providers, certificate infrastructure, and public internet resources. We are not responsible for third-party services, policies, availability, or data accuracy.
8. Availability And Changes
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any service or feature at any time. We may also apply rate limits, block abusive traffic, restrict tenants or users, remove app access, or decline requests that create operational, security, legal, or reliability risk.
9. Intellectual Property
NetQuery and its software, APIs, designs, logos, content, and documentation are owned by NetQuery or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of NetQuery intellectual property. You may use NetQuery only as permitted by these Terms and applicable law.
10. Disclaimers
NetQuery is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NetQuery disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
NetQuery does not provide legal, financial, compliance, or professional security advice. Diagnostic results are technical signals intended to support your own analysis.
11. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NetQuery will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, security incidents, or damages arising from third-party services or diagnostic results.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to NetQuery if we believe use of the services violates these Terms, creates risk, causes harm, or may expose NetQuery, users, Microsoft, or third parties to liability.
13. Updates To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date above and will be effective when posted unless otherwise stated. Continued use of NetQuery after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
